In December 2010, President Obama signed into law the Middle Class Tax Relief Act of 2010. This extensive tax package extended several tax credits geared toward boosting the sluggish economy. One of the credits that was extended is the one covering Bio-Mass Heating Appliances that was scheduled to expire on December 31, 2010. Although extended, the tax credit did change; the most notable of which is that the cap is for the purchase price of the appliance only, and that it is capped at $300 total.
